I did The Whole 30. Put on 5 pounds.

 

After my daughter was born, 5 years ago, I did Keto. I lost 10 pounds in about 2 months. Then put 7 or 8 back on. Primarily because I had post partum insomnia and stage 3 adrenal fatigue which was aggravated by attempting Keto.

 

I’ve tried Paleo. Nada.

 

I spent a couple hundred bucks on that bone broth fast... Lost 5 pounds... Put it right back on as soon as I started eating real food again...

 

Intermittent fasting... Nothing, except more insomnia...

 

Did a ultra-high carb diet. That helped me sleep... But didn’t lose any weight.

 

Toward the end of last year, I did a 3-day water fast... You’re supposed to lose weight on those right? Nope. Nothing.

 

I was at my wits end and felt like giving up.

 

Was I Experiencing “Weight Loss Resistance?”

No matter what I tried, nothing seemed to work. I’d read somewhere that too much stress contributed to stomach fat.

 

And that extra stomach fat made your body more sensitive to stress. So the more stressed you got, the fatter your stomach got, regardless of how little you ate, especially if it was carb based. Regardless of calories. In fact, lower calories seemed to make it worse.

 

In that state, your body literally cannot burn fat for fuel. Just sugar. It’s like your body is resistant to losing weight. At least using traditional methods. And that creates even more stress.

 

Sure seemed like my life...

 

It has to do with the balance of cortisol - the mobilization hormone, and insulin - the storage hormone. I’m sure you’ve heard about them.

 

So I decided to look into the Ketogenic Diet again. You might’ve heard of it since it’s become really popular recently.

 

But I had some concerns since the last time I tried Keto it made my insomnia worse and I put most of the weight I’d lost back on.

 

But Isn't Keto Dangerous?

So I read and watched all the popular blogs and videos. And I actually dug into the research, which appeared promising. It showed among other things that a Ketogenic Diet was actually good for your health. It -

  • Decreased Heart disease risk

  • Reversed/Reduced Type 2 Diabetes symptoms

  • Reduced Inflammation Markers resulting in Type 2 Diabetes

  • Reduced LDL cholesterol - the bad cholesterol

  • Increased HDL cholesterol - the good cholesterol

  • Improved brain function

So at least I wasn’t going to kill myself doing it. In fact, it was likely my health would improve, so that was good.

 

But I also found some of the reasons Keto was becoming increasingly popular, despite what the traditional medical and dietician communities were saying. Namely, according to some of the research, Keto users -

 

  • Lost almost 3 times more weight than traditional low calorie/low fat diet users[1,2]

  • Lost almost twice as much stomach fat than low calorie/low fat diet users[3]

  • Lost almost 3 times as many inches from their waist than low calorie/low fat diets users[3]

  • Keep the weight lost off longer than traditional low calorie/low fat diet users[3]

 

Now of course, not all the research showed that. Some showed no differences between Keto users and low calorie/low fat diet users. BUT… Since some research did, there was hope.

 

But I needed to do something that worked faster. I needed something that would produce near immediate results. I had so many failures in the past, honestly, I just couldn’t stand the thought of failing again.

 

A Faster, Different Way To Keto?

And that’s when my husband suggested not one, but three different “tweaks,” based on both our previous dieting and exercise experiences.

 

And no, I’m not talking about adding in daily intermittent fasting - I’d already failed miserably on that. I wasn’t taking any chances. The thought of starving myself every day until lunch again was a deal breaker.

 

So I embarked on an experiment using these three tweaks. To my astonishment, I wasn't miserable... I wasn't starving... And I actually slept better than I have in the last 5 years. 

 

And the best part - the part that mattered most?

 

These three tweaks “tricked” my body into quickly losing excess water, bloating, and fat - from my stomach, legs, and arms.

 

My theory is that since I gave my body all the nutrients it needed to thrive, it didn't shift into “Fight or Flight” mode from the loss of calories. As a result, it was able to dump that fat and fluid because it didn’t need to hold on to it anymore.

 

But I don’t know 100% for sure.

I have a hunch I’m not the only person in the world with these experiences - to have tried most of the mainstream diets and failed…

 

To hate getting dressed in the morning because nothing fits…

 

To wear only yoga pants because they stretch…

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are some answers to questions I think you could possibly ask, but I don’t know, since you haven’t asked them yet - LOL…

 

Q: Is this still Keto? Or something else?

 

A: It’s still Keto. BUT, I’ve used 3 specialized techniques - or “tweaks,” to (a) get you into Keto faster (b) burn more fat in the first week than you normally would and (c) burn more fat faster while on Keto after your first week than you normally would if you were doing regular Keto. That’s why I’m tentatively calling it Turbo Keto - because it’s faster - which means you get results faster, and stay motivated to hit your goals.

 

Q: So you’ve included meal plans and menus? I don’t have to spend hours looking around online?

 

A: Yes. Both meal plans - eat this, this, and this, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, on this day, this day, and this day. And menus/recipes - Here’s what I ate for breakfast - ingredients, and directions for cooking. PLUS - I make it simple for you.

 

Q: Do you have vegetarian or vegan recipes?

 

A: No. I like meat too much. Sorry if you don’t. :-(

Q: Do I have to figure out my “macros” for each meal?

 

A: No, not with the meals I provided. You just follow the ingredients list and the cooking directions. If you want to use your own meals, then yes.

 

Q: Do I have to exercise while doing this program?

 

A: No, only if you want to. I give you 3 recommendations.

 

Q: Do you provide a specific exercise program with this program?

 

A: In one of the bonuses, I make 3 exercise recommendations. Two I get very specific on, and the third is just general. One of the benefits of Keto is that it forces your body to burn fat without having to exercise. Exercise can help, but it’s not necessary. I provided the Bonus in case you want to exercise.

Q: Unlike you, I have more than 20 pounds to lose. Will this work for me? And if so, how fast?

 

A: Yes! It will. The Ketogenic Diet, when followed correctly, works for almost everybody. (I can’t say EVERYBODY, because obviously I don’t know everybody who’s tried it.) One of the things we know about weight loss from the research is this: The more weight you have to lose, the more weight you can lose, and typically the easier, and faster it is to lose at first. So I expect that you can lose more than I did. However, I have no way of predicting your success on this because I don’t have a crystal ball. It all depends on your ability to follow directions, which I’ve laid out clearly for you inside Turbo Keto. And furthermore, that’s why I’m doing this Beta Test - I want to see just how fast people can get results doing this.

 

Q: Isn’t losing weight quickly dangerous? That’s what all the experts say, don’t they? Lose 1 to 2 pounds a week?

 

A: Forgive me for saying so, but aren’t these all the experts whose dietary recommendations created the obesity epidemic in the first place?? (Eat the Food Pyramid, look like a Pyramid, I say.) And no, there’s been research done down at the University of Melbourne, Australia[4],[5], which demonstrated that rapid weight loss was superior to traditional slow weight loss for achieving weight loss goals and, contrary to popular belief, those who lost weight quickly didn’t put it back on faster than those who lost it slowly.

 

Q: Does this work for guys?

 

A: Yes, Keto works for guys. And since the 3 “tweaks” we made are based on things that have worked for both my husband (a guy) and me in the past, I’m pretty sure Turbo Keto work for you too.
